Chicago bass artist Wolf’d teams up with downtempo artist Universe of Sounds on “Minding Our Business,” a single that blends ambiance with aggression to create an entirely unique listening experience. The minute long intro of the track echoes the stylings of lo-fi hip-hop, with smooth boom-bap beats and muted piano samples. The drop completely changes the ambiance, unloading a wall of sweeping bass that charges along at a pace similar to halftime dubstep. The serene lo-fi instrumentation returns during the breakdown, giving way to more bass after the second drop. Finally in the last phrase of the track the two elements coalesce, demonstrating how seemingly disparate genres can communicate by virtue of tempo and the ingenuity of both artists." - Doyu Digital
